Website creation

1Initial conversation

During out initial conversation via telephone, e-mail, or personally, in your company's headquarters, we'll agree upon your needs regarding the website. How do you intend to present you r company on the Net? What subpages are going to be needed? What graphical layout will be the most adequate? What special functions do you require?

During this conversation, I'll also give you a quote on the service.

2Graphic design idea

You might have a ready idea for the graphic design. If so, I'll be happy to start working according to your indications. If you wish, I can also offer my own suggestions, so that the design is as appealing as possible.

However, you might as well choose to have me create a graphic design from scratch. I'll be equally happy to create my own mockup for you. Afterwards, we'll adjust the details together.

3Converting a mock up image into a working sample website

This stage requires no input on your part. I will process the mock up image created in Adobe Photoshop and "shred it" into images useable on an actual website. Next, I'll write appropriate code in HTML and CSS languages. The effect should be a static page showcasing all the graphical details, as well as the typographies and text styles, all running in a web browser.

4Content management system installation

If you haven't got a domain name and hosting space, I'll purchase and configure these. Then I'll create a database and finally install a content management system, or CMS. I only work with the best software in this field. It's called Drupal. And did I mention it's also absolutely free?

Creating a theme

Next step is transforming the already written HTML+CSS code into a format that's recongniseable by Drupal. It's called a theme and it's a set of files written in up to four programming languages: HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript! After the theme is created and installed, the website should already be functional, just lacking content.

6Inserting content

This is the last stage: filling the website with content. Text, photographies and other materials will finally make it to the website. Afterwards, the site can be made available to the users.

7And we're done!

The website is already there, in the Internet!

But my work isn't entirely done yet. I will also show you how to handle the CMS, for instance, how to add and modify content, and if that is your wish, I can also take care of updating the site personally!
